Our Philosophy

Shoto Ryu is a Karate Association, but we practise other empty handed and weapon forms in order to supplement Karate. See our Karate, Tai Chi and Weapons pages for more details.

We do not enter competitions as an Association, although none of our members are barred from doing so.

Our Association

We are a small, personal association with a family feel.

We are affiliated with 'Karate England' and the Federation of English Karate Organisations.

Our Founder was Sensei Vivian Nash 8th Dan.
